Chair - Daniel Donnelly
|
Danny Donnelly is a lifelong resident of Larne where he has a wife and young family. He works as a staff nurse in the Ulster Hospital. Despite being a recent newcomer to the Green Party, Danny has previously been involved in many campaigns including being the local organiser for the “We Won’t Pay” campaign against the water charge.
Danny is a long term CND supporter and strongly believes in nuclear disarmament and a future where our energy needs are met by clean renewable sources as opposed to dirty and dangerous nuclear power. Danny says “I joined the Northern Ireland Green Party because I believe that organising together and fighting for policies that will protect the environment for future generations is the most necessary path of politics.” |

Treasurer - Mark Bailey
|
Mark Bailey was the Assembly candidate for East Antrim in 2007 where he got over 2% of first preference votes - the highest figure achieved by a Green Party candidate north of Belfast Lough.
He was born and educated in England moving to Northern Ireland in 2000 and has lived in Whitehead for over 10 years. He is a long-time member of Greenpeace and joined the Green Party 7 years ago seeing it as a party committed to dealing with environmental and social issues. Mark says “The Green Party is committed to sensible policies on many of the issues which face us today. We want to expand community healthcare to help the elderly, chronically ill and physically or mentally disabled. We believe that that people should be cared for at home rather than institutions, if at all possible, and that home carers should be given proper support. We believe in locally produced clean energy and an independent Environmental Protection Agency, with powers to enforce sensible European directives such as those on drinking and bathing water. We believe in a joined up transport infrastructure to meet the needs of the people of East Antrim. The Green Party is a fresh voice on the issues facing the Northern Ireland public today.” |
